If you live in a remote area, have family or other commitments, or simply have a busy life, you can now study to become a Beauty Therapist by Distance Education. Commencing February 2010, Canberra Beauty Academy proudly provides both the Certificate IV and Diploma in Beauty Therapy in a new flexible learning format. Distance Education allows to attain a full qualification through a combination of web based, online study, practice at home and intensive practical workshops held at the Academy four times per year. Participating in practical salon experience is recommended however not essential.
What’s involved?
CBA’s distance learning program begins with theoretical units which need to be completed prior to each individual practical intensive. Practical intensives are held four times per year at the Academy and cover all practical facets of beauty therapy. Each student is provided with product and tool kits to allow them to continue to practice their skills and techniques at home. Theory is provided via a combination of text books, workbooklets and CBA’s online learning management system which provides access to additional resources, assessments tasks and video demonstration of practical sessions. Ongoing support via telephone and internet is also available throughout the duration of learning to ensure each student receives all the attention and motivation necessary to complete their qualification.
What do I need?
You need to have internet and computer access, be over 16 years of age, be able to attend four practical intensives and purchase a portable massage bed for at home practice (approximate cost $150).
