Certificate II in Retail Cosmetic Services

 

Certificate II in Retail Cosmetic Services is an entry level qualification for those who wish to develop the skills and knowledge to begin a career in the Beauty Industry. This nationally recognised course is designed to have a practical, hands-on emphasis, learning in a simulated workplace environment.

 

The following modules are included:

 

MAKEUP APPLICATION
Including daywear, evening wear, bridal, basic photographic and personal use makeup application. This module also includes determining skin type and appropriate use of product, selecting suitable colours, and designing and applying correct makeup techniques for a variety of different situations. Determining camouflage needs, selecting suitable products and applying corrective techniques is also explored.

 

Highly practical in nature, sessions are designed to enable participants to perfect their skills and allow opportunity to receive crucial one-on-one feedback.

 

CUSTOMER SERVICE
Including approaching customers, applying product knowledge, overcoming objections identifying product’s benefits, using effective communication, etc..

 

RETAIL FUNCTIONS
Participants will have hands on experience operating within the CBA student clinic and as such will gain practical experience maintaining and operating retail equipment, receiving and processing incoming goods, dispatching goods, rotating and reordering stock.

Participants will also develop basic visual merchandising skills including placing, arranging, monitoring and protecting merchandise. Skills used to prepare display labels and tickets are also developed during this module.


WORKPLACE ETIQUETTE
Including working in a team, maintaining personal presentation, following routine instructions, processing information and basic number work. Observing basic safety, emergency and O&HS procedures are also covered.

(WRRM5A) Monitor in-store visual merchandising display;

(WRRM2B) Perform routine housekeeping duties;

(WRRI1B) Perform stock control procedures;

(WRRCA1B) Operate retail equipment;

(WRRER1B) Work effectively in a retail environment;

(WRBCS201B) Conduct financial transactions;

(WRBFS201B) Demonstrate retail skin care products.
