So, you want to be a makeup artist!

 

image1Certificate IV in Makeup [CUF40407] is designed for those who wish to work professionally in the film, television, theatrical, fashion, bridal and photographic industries.


Subjects include makeup techniques for high fashion, intimate productions, latex ageing, character design, script analyses, bridal etiquette, period design ranging from 1920’s to the present, presenter makeup, etc.


DURATION
2 evenings per week for a period of 9 months or 3 days per week for a period of 5 months.

INTAKE
The Diploma in Makeup has two intakes per course per year. Commencement dates and terms are structured according to the school year.

 

COST

PRE-REQUISITIES
The Certificate IV in Makeup does not require any pre-requisite studies, however, participants must have successfully completed Year 10 and be at least 16 years of age.

 

MATERIALS
A fully equipped basic make-up kit is provided to all Certificate IV and Diploma students which is included in the cost structure of the course. Participants may wish to upgrade this kit as the course progresses. Specialty products such as latex, bruise kits, etc are all provided for use in class.

 

WORKPLACE TRAINING
60 hours workplace training must be completed by Certificate IV participants, and 80 hours by Diploma students. This could include: Repertory, Canberra youth ballet, bridal make-ups, fashion parades, hair shows, face painting, etc. CMA graduates have developed their portfolios through their dedication to work place training. Upon graduating, their services have been engaged for the following: 60 Minutes, The Footy Show, Wide World of Sports, ABC Nightly News, Channel 10 Nightly News, Lateline, 7.30 Report, MAC Makeup, FHM Magazine, Ralph Magazine, Gucci NY, Canberra Capitals, etc.. CMA graduates have worked for numerous photographic studios, modeling agencies and have completed numerous television commercials. Some CMA graduates have worked with celebrities and high profiled politicians such as Prime Minister John Howard, Ray Martin, Nicky Webster, and Toby Allan.

 

FACILITIES
The academy is designed with individual, illuminated work stations for each participant. A selection of relevant books is available to all participants for research and reference. Recreation areas and kiosk facilities are also available on site.

 

ENROLMENT PROCEDURE
An appointment for a personal interview may be arranged with the academy’s principals. This allows us the opportunity to discuss the course content in detail with you, and answer any questions you may have. As placements are limited, the prospective student’s suitability may also be assessed.

 

Participants may enroll by paying a $500 deposit to secure their placement. If posting a deposit please send a cheque or money order payable to ‘Canberra Make-up Academy’, together will your completed enrolment form. We also accept Bankcard, MasterCard and Visa. RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Previous work experience or training courses may enable us to deem you competent in certain areas which will allow exemption from some modules. This process is referred to as ‘Recognition of Prior Learning ‘ (RPL). As a Registered Training Organisation, delivering nation-ally recognised training, CMA can assist you with this process. Please feel free to download an RPL application form by clicking here. Application for RPL must occur prior to course commencement.

FLEXIBLE PAYMENT OPTIONS
CMA offers a variety of flexible payment options designed to suit your specific needs. Fees can be paid monthly, by term or in a lump sum.

 

FULL-TIME STUDENTS

OPTION 1
$500 deposit on enrolment. A $500 discount applies to participants who pay in full prior to commencement. Total Course Cost: $5400.


OPTION 2
$500 deposit paid on enrolment. Two (2) payments of $2700. Options 2 payments are payable at the beginning of each term. Total Course Cost: $5900.

OPTION 3

$500 paid on enrolment. Five (5) payments of $1080.00. Option 3 is available to credit card holders only and is debited monthly.Total Course Cost: $5900.

 

PART-TIME STUDENTS

OPTION 1
$500 deposit on enrolment. A $500 discount applies to participants who pay in full prior to commencement. Total Course Cost: $5400.

 

OPTION 2
$500 deposit paid on enrolment. Three (3) payments of $1800. Options 2 payments are payable at the beginning of each term. Total Course Cost: $5900.

 

OPTION 3

$500 paid on enrolment. Ten (10) payments of $540. Option 3 is available to credit card holders only and is debited monthly.Total Course Cost: $5900.
