CMA’s Certificate IV in Business Administration provides you with an in-depth knowledge of complex functions of software programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and more. It also focuses on promoting products and services, co-ordinating business resources in a team environment and developing presentation skills. Learners develop effective communication, sound teamwork, competent use of business technology, effective marketing strategies and efficient information handling.
It also provides an opportunity for you to acquire relevant and recognised skills which are highly sought after in the local labour market.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The ability to use complex functions of Microsoft Office software applications such as Word, Excel and Access is considered highly useful in any administrative role. A large component of this program involves the practical use of technology as you develop advanced skills and in-depth knowledge of these essential programs. Did you know over 80% of workplaces use Microsoft Office Suite? Yet so few people know how to use the advanced features of this software.
MARKETING
Marketing is one of the most important, yet challenging business activities, crucial to almost every organisation. This module looks closely at principles of marketing, including key concepts and the important tasks marketers perform. Presentation skills are developed whilst exploring the importance of customer relationships, different types of marketing and working within a budget. You will develop marketing strategies and solutions to promote products and services.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Customers are the lifeblood of any enterprise. Providing quality customer service makes good business sense. It increases customer satisfaction, which in turn builds customer loyalty and contributes to the bottom line. As such, the ability to deliver consistent, excellent customer service is crucial to working successfully in an administrative capacity. This module includes topics such as: how customers see you, handling difficult customers, telephone answering techniques, understanding your customers needs, dealing with internal and external customers, working within a team, etc.
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
This module explores a range of general administrative functions such as organizing meetings, organizing travel, managing time, priortising tasks, scheduling, coordinating resources, using information systems, communicating effectively and more. Learners operate in a simulated work place environment, which deals with events, problems and issues at a case study workplace. This will include practical activities and projects which will enable learners to develop skills and knowledge applicable to the relevant competencies, and relate the competency directly to the workplace.

The day-time study program runs for approximately 3 months. The evening program runs for 12 months, 1 evening per week. Participants are also required to undertake project tasks during non-contact hours.

Upon completion you will be prepared for employment in an administrative capacity across many industries. Successful completion of this program may assist you to gain entry into further study programs and/or may contribute towards study credits. After achieving the BSB40507 Certificate IV in Business Administration, you may undertake the BSB50407 Diploma of Business Administration, a qualification for those wishing to develop specialised technical or theoretical management skills, or a range of other Diploma qualifications.
